Amazing Experience in the Douro River Valley
We had a fantastic trip to the Douro River Valley with Rui. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the region and Wine / Port making in Portugal. Rui went out of his way to make sure that our experience was personalized and the Quintas that we visited were remarkable. He is a kind and positive man who really made the day enjoyable. This was certainly one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal and an excursion with Rui is highly recommended!!

Braga and Guimaraes tour with Rui on September 3rd 2025
Rui took us on a wonderful excursion. He is extremely knowledgeable about the region and the history. But foremost he is a kind, first class gentleman. Porto Paths has a tremendous human resource in Rui.
Wedding in Guimaraes and Douro Valley day trip
We had 2 wonderful days with Rui as our driver/guide in Douro Valley and for a wedding in Guimaraes. He is professional, thoughtful and warm, and looked after us very well throughout. Rui ensured that we were well hydrated and kept cool in the summer heat. We also had wonderful conversations with Rui, learning about Portugal and sharing about our home country.
Rui took us along the N222 in the Douro valley, a picturesque and stunning drive with breathtaking scenery. He also brought us to a beautiful Quinta in the Douro valley for port tasting and booked an exquisite lunch spot for us–it was the best meal of our entire trip.
Thank you Rui for a wonderful 2 days! We highly recommend him to all travelers!
